Trauma, Grief & Healing Through Faith

Healing That Honors Both
Your Story and Your Faith

Loss and trauma can shake even a strong faith, and that’s not a failure. Here, you don’t have to choose between processing what happened and holding onto what you believe. Both belong in the room.

What this might
feel like

Trauma and grief counseling gives you space to process what actually happened, at your pace, with a therapist trained in trauma-informed clinical care who takes your faith seriously, doubts and all.

  • A sudden loss, a diagnosis, or an experience that keeps resurfacing, even when you’ve tried to move past it.
  • Numbness, or the opposite, feeling everything at once and not knowing what to do with it.
  • Grief that doesn’t follow a timeline, showing up again long after people expect you to be “fine.”
  • A sense that your faith has been shaken by what happened, and guilt about that.
  • Trouble trusting people, situations, or even God, in the way you used to.
  • Carrying something quietly because it feels too heavy to bring to the people around you.

This is for you if…

You’re carrying a loss, a diagnosis, or something that happened to you that still feels unresolved.

You’ve been told to “just have faith” and it hasn’t been enough.

You want to grieve or process trauma without setting your beliefs aside to do it.

You’re ready for support, even if you’re not sure you’re ready to talk about everything yet.

Our approach

In session, your therapist walks through what happened with you using trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), so you can process it without getting stuck in it, and brings in Family Systems Therapy when grief or trauma is affecting your whole household.

“You turned my wailing into dancing; you
removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.”

FAQ

What if I’m angry at God because of what happened?
That’s welcome here too. Your therapist won’t rush you past that anger or ask you to perform faith you don’t feel. Working through it honestly is part of real healing.
Do I have to talk about the trauma in detail right away?
No. You and your therapist set the pace together. Some clients need to talk it through early, others need to build trust first, both are normal.
How do I know if I need grief counseling, or if I just need more time?
There’s no wrong time to reach out. If it’s affecting your daily life, your relationships, or how you’re coping, that’s worth talking to someone about. It’s never too late, and you don’t have to wait for it to get worse before you ask for help.
